Introduction
Anno became widely known through this TV series. It also played a central role in driving the second anime boom in the latter half of the 90s. After four years of recharging period after "NADIA", this was planned by Anno himself, aiming to return to the roots of mega robot anime. It remained a popular topic of conversation even after the broadcast completed, creating a social phenomena known as the "Eva boom". All episodes will be screened at two consecutive all-night sessions.
