Synopsis
Pather Panchali is the cult film of all time, but ironically the star Subir 'Apu' Banerjee never became a part of any film again in his entire life after that. The most striking point being, his real life existence started bearing an uncanny resemblance to the 'reel life' Apu. The saddest and probably the weirdest coincidence being that when Subir acted in Pather Panchali as a kid he didn’t have the faintest idea that he was destined to carry the 'reel life' character’s curse throughout his life. This Kaushik Ganguly film is a tribute to world’s most celebrated child actor.

Kaushik Ganguly
Kaushik Ganguly turned director with the teleserial "Rahaat". Making his feature film debut with Waarish, he is known for his works like Ushnatar Janya (2003) and Arekti Premer Golpo (2010). He became significant after his national award for Shabdo(2013). Recently he was awarded the Best Director award for his film “A Song of Apu” at International Film Festival of India 2013.
