The 27th Tokyo International Film Festival welcomes actress Miki Nakatani for the Festival Muse! Ms. Nakatani will appear at the opening and closing ceremonies and other official events as the face of the 27th TIFF.

Born in Tokyo on January 12, 1976. She made her debut as an actress in 1993, and won the Best Supporting Actress at the 27th Japan Academy Prize for her role in {When the Last Sword is Drawn}. In 2006, she won the Best Actress Award at the 30th Japan Academy Prize for {Memories of Matsuko} as well as many other awards. S0he has recently expanded into theater performance, and her theatrical debut “Hunting Gun” won her the Individual Award at the 46th Kinokuniya Theatrical Awards and the Best Actress at the 19th Yomiuri Theater Awards. She won the Best Actress again at the Yomiuri Theater Awards for her work in “Lost in Yonkers”. Her main film appearances include {Hankyu Railways – A 15-minute Miracle} (Yoshishige Miyake), {The Tale of Genji: Sennen no nazo} (Yasuo Tsuruhashi), {Real} (Kiyoshi Kurosawa), {The Kiyosu Conference} (Koki Mitani), {Ask This of Rikyu} (Mitsutoshi Tanaka), and {The World of Kanako} (Tetsuya Nakajima). {Tsukuroi tatsu hito} (Yukiko Mishima), in which she plays the leading role, is due for release in January 2015.
