TV advert and promotional video for a game software from Tokuma Soft. The promotional video was included in the VHD video magazine, “Anime Vision”. Production was by Studio Graviton where Anno was working at the time. Anno was responsible for effects animation, too.

Honoo no Tenkousei Trailer (1991)

Trailer for “Honoo no Tenkousei”, an OLA (original laser disc animation) by Anno’s friend from university, Kazuhiko Shimamoto, based on the manga comic of the same title. Anno was mainly responsible for editing and superimposed text.

This pilot film was produced for the presentation of the project. Directed by Anno, it is based on thumbnails by Masayuki. It was presented with image illustrations by Moyoko Anno to companies considering to invest to this project.

Anno participated in the storyboards as helper. Stoppage, repeat animation and BGONLY (background only scene) was used to reduce the workload on a tight schedule. Instead, work was focused on the fighting scene, resulting in a well-contrasted piece.

Promotional video for an anime shop, ‘Animate’. Characters by Kazuhiko Shimamoto. This was essentially directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, and Anno was more of an editorial supervisor.

Anno’s storyboard was digitally filmed for this feature screening, then provisional narratives and sound effects have been added to make it easier to understand. A staff at Studio khara production department provided the narratives to give a feel of leicareel.

This animation version was produced as a spin-off of the live-action film. The opening animation is screened this time. It was planned to use the latter half part for the opening of the theatrical live-action CUTIE HONEY.

Opening and two types of ending for TV animation based on the comic of the same title by Moyoko Anno. Moyoko wrote the storyboard, which Anno expanded. Incidentally, Moyoko drew the original drawings as well.

Documentary film directed by Katsuyuki Hirano. This was the first live action film which Anno produced. Starring Yumika Hayashi, who passed away suddenly in 2005 at the young age of 34. Trailer, which was developed by Anno, will be screened.

Anno acts as Museum Director of an exhibition about miniature special effects. Since launched at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo in 2012, it still tours across Japan. The TV advertisement for this exhibition, which Anno developed, will be screened.

A Giant Warrior Descends on Tokyo – Theatrical Version (2012)

This special effects short film was produced specially as an exhibit at the “Tokusatsu” Special Effects Museum. The theatrical version of “A Giant Warrior Descends on Tokyo” was released with “EVANGELION:3.0 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO.”, with enhancements to the images and sound. Directed by Shinji Higuchi. Anno co-produced with Toshio Suzuki of Studio Ghibli.
